Tender Results |
The results of the largest tender floated in Kuwait in recent times has been announced.
The Project is Crude Oil Export Facilities for Kuwait Oil Company, which involves facilities to export 3 million barrels per day of crude oil through under-water pipelines to a berth for super tankers.
The prices quoted by the three bidders are as follows:
1. Kvaerner E&C, USA US$ 774 Million
2. Technip Coflexip, France US$ 1,120 Million
3. JGC Corp., Japan US$ 1,238 Million
The lowest bidder Kvaerner’s price is 45% lower than the second bidder Technip and 60% lower than the third bidder JGC. Such a huge difference in prices for a major tender is never seen before in Kuwait.
